FRESNO, CA – Clovis resident Zack Follett, a former Detroit Lions linebacker who would be barred by AB 1309 (Perea) from filing a California claim against the Lions’ workers’ compensation insurance carrier, will protest the measure at a news conference outside Assem. Perea’s office on Friday, April 19, 2013 at noon. AB 1309 would shift NFL owners’ injury costs to taxpayers, aiding billionaires in
avoiding responsibility for players’ injuries, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Lou Gehrig’s disease.
