37 CAAA Lobby Day volunteers came to the State Capitol...to make a difference.
CAAA's Teamster-sponsored Return To Work Fund legislation was approved by the Assembly Insurance Committee - more money for our clients whose injury prevents them from getting their old job back.
CAAA supported Assemblywoman Eloise Reyes legislation to end UR/IMR for injuries resulting from terrorist acts or workplace violence but the DIR messed with Eloise's bill. We know that Eloise is tough enough and the process is long enough that she'll get this done one way or the other to help the San Bernardino victims.
And CAAA's Latino Caucus proposal to win Workers' Compensation for Day Laborers hit a roadblock. But guess what? Our champion, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher isn't taking "no" for an answer. Lorena has a plan to get around that roadblock and keep going.
On May 3, CAAA will move to end apportionment based on pregnancy while Assemblyman Adam Gray moves to shut down the attack on CT's.
Congratulations to CAAA's 37 Volunteer Lobbyists!
One good day deserves another!
