The enemies of those who advocate for injured workers' legal rights would have legislators believe that lawyers are largely responsible for Workers' Compensation Fraud.

But the Auditor General's recently published report on Workers' Compensation Fraud presents a much different picture; a factual one.

Of 4,173 suspected cases of fraud in the last year, only 47 involved lawyers. While CAAA believes that one lawyer involved in fraud is one too many, we can all be proud that as a profession we are 1.1% of the problem.

Employers had 1000% more fraud referrals and medical providers had 500% more.

So next time someone tries to make you feel like a culprit...

Keep Calm and Carry On...with pride in your work and confidence that you are on the right side.
