"You go to Tesla and you think it's going to be this innovative, great, wonderful place to be, like this kind of futuristic company ... And I guess it's just kind of disappointing that that's our future, basically, where the worker still doesn't matter."
That's the assessment from a former physician assistant inside Tesla's factory in Fremont, California.
Even in 2018, in the liberal state of California, in what's supposed to be a progressive corporation, the worker STILL doesn't matter.
A comprehensive article published by Reveal (The Center for Investigative Journalism) on November 5th documents multiple instances of injured workers being denied treatment, directed back to the production line, and forced to be driven to the hospital in Lyfts rather than an ambulance.
What's worse is that it took multiple calls from the physician assistant and Reveal to get Cal/OSHA officials to investigate these claims.
We must do better. Our state agencies appointed to protect workers must do better.
