The California Workers' Compensation Coverage Inquiry website is a free service created by the WCIRB that you can use to identify an insurer that wrote a California workers' compensation insurance policy for a specific employer on a specific date within the last 5 years. Claims Coverage Research

WCIRB member insurer claims adjusters have access to the Claims Coverage Research feature, which provides detailed workers’ compensation insurance coverage information on workers’ compensation insurance policies dating back to 1974, to assist in proper claims handling. Contact the WCIRB member insurer claims adjuster for coverage information. 

Online Coverage Requests

Attorneys may request workers’ compensation insurance coverage information related to a pending workers’ compensation claim. To submit a request, go to https://wcirb.com/coverage-research-request and provide the requested information to initiate the request. This is not a free service. Parties will be charged based upon the number of years and employers’ information requested.

Subpoenas

Subpoenas must be hand-delivered to the WCIRB at 1221 Broadway, Suite 900, Oakland, CA 94612 and the statutory fee must be included with all subpoenas (paid by check or by having a credit card on file). All other forms of service will be returned to the subpoenaing party.
