Medicare Set-Asides: Issues & Strategies
Published by California Applicants' Attorneys Association

Summary
An omnipresent bugaboo for all practitioners in workers' compensation law is dealing with the Medicare set-aside, which is often part and parcel of the settlement of the claim. This webinar will address the issues that are relevant to Medicare set-asides, as well as provide practical strategies to use in dealing with many different situations involving the settlement of claims with, or without, a Medicare set aside. The panelists will provide a roundtable discussion on issues such as, whether or not a Medicare set aside is necessary, whether or not a Medicare set aside must be sent to CMS for approval, how to handle denied cases and denied body parts in the Medicare set-aside, and how to review the substance of the set-aside.

This webinar is a must for lawyers who want to be effective at settling cases and protecting their clients' interests, and for doctors who want to learn more about how medical reports are used in assessing future medical needs, both Medicare covered needs, and non-Medicare covered needs.
