“The U.S. Soccer Federation announced Wednesday that it has reached a deal to pay the U.S. Men's National Team and the U.S. Women's National Team equally, eliminating a contentious pay gap that saw female players earning less.”

The State Senate leadership decided to do nothing about how the gender pay gap reduces benefits for women who get injured at work.
And while there are limits to what the Legislature can do on closing the gender pay gap in private companies, the State Constitution grants the Legislature “plenary” (absolute) power over Workers’ Compensation.
When our champion Senator Monique Limón introduced legislation to close the gender benefit gap in Workers’ Compensation both she and CAAA were told there were technical issues with the bill.
Senator Limón and CAAA asked for help from the Senate Labor Committee to address those technical issues. But even after amending the bill to reflect those fixes, the truth revealed itself.
The Senate leadership killed the bill by not allowing a vote... because the Chamber of Commerce didn’t like it.
