Since 1966, the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association has dedicated itself to helping Californians that get hurt on the job heal and get back to work. Our members proudly represent thousands of injured workers every year and fight to better California's workforce by engaging in three areas of advocacy.
The Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) is an appointed judicial body charged with reviewing petitions for reconsideration in workers’ compensation cases. Our Association monitors cases that may have a significant impact on working Californians in order to find opportunities to weigh in as amici curiae, or friends of the court.
Our headquarters are down the street from the State Capitol in Sacramento and we’re always present at the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation (CHSWC) meetings in Oakland. With an experienced team, we advocate for the interests of workers by strategically participating in the legislative and regulatory processes.
Through our preeminent conventions and seminars, our Association ensures that attorneys, physicians, employers, and the insurance industry understand current laws and acceptable practices. Doing so helps to safeguard injured workers from common pitfalls of California’s complex workers’ compensation bureaucracy.
